Our client, who is a well-established consultancy specialising in Health & Safety within the construction industry is looking for a dynamic Business Developer Manager to join their team to expand our network and client base.
 
 
Job Summary
The Business Development Manager / Client Relationship Manager will use their business development and relationship management expertise to forge and foster long-term client relationships.
 
This role will drive customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention through proactive client engagement and tailored service delivery.
By identifying and pursuing new business opportunities that align with the company’s objectives, the Manager will also contribute to expanding the client base.
Ultimately, their strategic acumen and people-focused approach will help solidify the company’s standing as a trusted partner in the construction and health & safety sectors.
 
Key Responsibilities:
    1. Relationship Development and Networking:
      • Attend relevant industry events to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders (e.g., property developers, construction companies, architects, engineers and quantity surveyors).
      • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the client base.
      • Acquire in-depth knowledge of each client, including their project history, prospective initiatives, detailed project scope, senior management contacts, and reporting structures.
2. Stakeholder Management:
      • Serve as the primary liaison between the consultancy and its clients, promptly addressing concerns and maintaining ongoing satisfaction. Conduct regular check-ins and feedback sessions while tracking and analysing client satisfaction metrics, initiating corrective actions if satisfaction falls below target benchmarks.
      • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance client engagement, adoption, and overall success.
3. Marketing and Lead Generation:
      • Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase brand visibility within the construction and health & safety sectors.
      • Generate and qualify leads through various channels, including online platforms, networking, and referrals, to attract potential customers.
4. Sales and Client Engagement:
      • Prepare and deliver tailored proposals and presentations to potential clients.
      • Negotiate contracts and close deals to achieve and exceed sales targets.
 
5. Strategic Planning:
      • Collaborate with Top Management to align business development strategies with company goals.
      • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
6. Process Improvement & Reporting
      • Gather client feedback and work with Top Management to refine service offerings and enhance client experiences.
      • Maintain up-to-date records in CRM systems and provide regular reporting on key metrics (e.g., client satisfaction, retention rates, etc).
 
 
Qualifications and Certifications:
    • Education:
      • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (essential).
      • Certification in Health & Safety or related fields (advantageous).
    • Experience:
      • Minimum 3+ years of experience in customer success, relationship management, business development, or client relations – preferably in the construction or health & safety sector.
      • Sales experience in a similar role is advantageous.
    • Skills and Competencies:
      • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Negotiation skills: Proven ability to negotiate and close deals while maintaining client satisfaction.
      • CRM Proficiency: Experience using CRM systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
      • Problem-solving: Skilled to identify issues and implement practical solutions promptly.
      • Time Management: To prioritise tasks, manage multiple accounts, and meet deadlines consistently.
      • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with construction standards and health & safety regulations is advantageous.
