The role of the Report Writer and Data Analyst, is to contribute to the overall success of the organization by energetically and effectively designing and creating reports, as well as performing analytics of data.
Our client is looking for a skilled Report Writer with a strong background in SQL and Power BI, coupled with engineering experience.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- analysing data
- creating comprehensive reports
- delivering insights to support decision-making processes.
This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and translate them into effective reporting solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing analytical reports as required for business insight, innovation, and optimisation
- Ensuring that all records are in line with company procedure and accepted practices.
- Develop and maintain complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyse data from various databases.
- Design and create interactive and visually appealing reports and dashboards using PowerBI.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand data sources and ensure accurate reporting.
- Interpret data trends and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy across reports and dashboards.
- Conduct regular data quality checks and troubleshoot reporting issues.
- Assist in the development of data models to optimise report performance.
- Provide training and support to end-users on report utilisation and data interpretation.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in data reporting and visualisation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Sound verbal, written and telephonic communication skills in English
- Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proven experience in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Proficiency in PowerBI for report creation and dashboard development.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL or LTE processes.
- Reporting skills with excellent communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in a similar reporting or data analysis role is preferred.
- Knowledge of additional programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
- Advanced SQL skills (e.g., joins, subqueries, aggregations).
- Expertise in PowerBI functionalities (e.g., DAX, Power Query).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
